  Main Farmers’ Market

Main Framers’ Market is a community-run market, featuring all local producers selling their own goods. This year, the vendors offer berries, apples, vegetables, cheese, eggs, cut flowers, bedding plants, planters and hanging baskets, herbs, organic sprouts, maple products, salads, elk, game meats, lamb, beef and pork, prepared foods, baked goodies and honey. There will be many familiar vendors who will be joined by a number of new vendors, particularly organic growers and producers.

LOCAL! All vendors must be local (within 100 miles) and are permitted to sell only what they self-produce.

UNIQUE! The Main Farmers’ Market is a unique market run by a board of directors from the community, and supports community initiatives such as the Children’s Garden.

FRESH AND FUN! Come for the freshness, stay for the fun! The many regular customers and vendors make the market a dynamic and friendly place to shop, enjoy entertainment, and chat with neighbours.

NEW! This season, watch for more entertainment, new prepared-food vendors, and improved customer seating at the market.

Bottled Water Free Day on campus

Currently, bottled water is one of the best selling beverage on campus, even though it is usually just tap water in a bottle, sold at an inflated price. While some may find it more convenient to purchase bottled water rather then fill a re-usable bottle at a fountain, it’s important to be aware of the consequences that are associated with the product, the environmental impact and risks. The bottled water industry is less regulated than municipal water systems, consumes more energy and releases more harmful toxins into the environment than tap water.

Make a difference by using a refillable water bottle and by filling it at the nearest fountain or tap.

The community of the Centre for Ministry Formation is pleased to invite you to our annual symposium that will be held from February  8th-10th, 2010.  Please reserve these dates to participate in this privileged occasion to deepen our partnership and build Christian community together.

In the context of our theme this year “Ministry at the Service of Building Christian Community” we will explore the connections between ministry and the building of mature Christian Community, the relationships between ourselves and others who share in pastoral leadership with us, links between ourselves and the theological, missionary, psychological and cultural dimensions of our theme.

We will have presentations, panel discussions, open conversations, case studies and other events to help us engage with our theme. This is a wonderful way to honour this ‘Year of the Priest’ as we deepen our understanding of this essential dimension of pastoral ministry.
