Professor Kevin Flynn, Director of Anglican Studies at Saint Paul University.  The day will include talks as well as several periods of silent meditation. Instruction in the contemplative practice of Christian Meditation will be given.  All are welcome.

Alex Munter, Executive Director, Youth Services Bureau, will be addressing current gaps inOttawa-Carleton mental health services and the present needs of mental health stakeholders (i.e., organizations, mental health professionals, clients) within the system. The role of the OIORT in bridging the lacunae in service delivery needs is examined.

For the "Person Day", the Centre for Women and Christians cordially invites you to the Glasmacher Lecture by the theologian Annette Esser “Women Without Borders: Feminist Spiritualities in Context (in English only).

The lecture will be on Monday, October 19th, 2009, at 7:30 p.m. in the amphitheatre (1124) of Saint-Paul University. A reception will follow.

Dr. Annette Esser is founder of the Scivias-Institute, a project based in Bad Kreuznach, Germany, to promote the integration of spirituality and art through both reflective and therapeutic methods, in the spirit of Hildegard of Bingen. Dr. Esser studied at the universities of Cologne and Muenster. She studied psychotherapy and religion at Union Theological Seminary (New York), and received her Ph.D. from the Radboud University of Nijmegen (the Netherlands) with a dissertation on feminist spirituality. She has taught at the Universities of Muenster and Aachen, as well as various institutes of higher education in Cologne and Bad Kreuznach. It is a pleasure to make available some of the conferences and discussions that were presented at the Symposium on work, ethics and public service, held on January 30th 2009. This symposium brought together experts in these three fields as well as academics, students, public servants and practicioners interested in the challenges arising from moral awareness and moral engagement while at work in the public service.

The papers that are not posted are not yet available.
