DCA 5133 Judicial Procedures (Procedures I) (3 credits) – Prof. Lynda ROBITAILLE (in English) The 1983 Code of Canon Law treats in Book VII of processes or trials which take place in the Church. Trials may have many objects: the protection of personal rights, the definition of the state of persons, the condemnation of the guilty, etc. It goes without saying that, in the Church, the trials that take place today have as their object, in most cases, the protection of rights and the definition of the state of persons. Most of the trials dealing with the protection of personal rights are now carried out in an “administrative” context, while those concerning the state of persons (v.g., freedom to marry) are carried out in the more “formal” type of procedure. DCA 6114 Tribunal Procedures (Procedures II) (3 credits) – Prof. to be determined (in English) Ordinary contentious trial II: proofs; incidental matters; publication, conclusion and discussion of the case; pronouncements of the judge; ways to challenge the sentence; adjudged matter and total reinstatement; free legal aid; execution of the sentence. Ecclesiological considerations: Church as an image of the Trinity; Church as communion of eucharistic communities; Church as eschatological reality. Fall 2010 and Winter 2011DCA 5604 Droit sacramentel et liturgique (6 crédits) - Profs Wojciech Kowal et François Hamel (en français) Droit sacramentel et liturgique: partie b - pénitence, onction et ordres sacrés, autres actes du culte divin. Fall 2010, Winter and Spring-Summer 2011Master in Religious Education: 10 courses – 30 credits (in English) The MRE is designed to assist in the formation of competent practioners of religious education; teachers and leaders in school systems, religious educators and catechists in parish and diocesan settings. The MRE is a professional program that combines theological reflection and educational methods. It is a three year, part time program offered through a combination of online and on-site activities (9 hours on campus weekend per session required). Doctor of Ministry: 6 courses, 1 thesis, 12 credits in research practica – 33 credits (in English et en français) The Faculty of Theology of Saint Paul University offers North America’s only bilingual (French and English) program (33 credits) leading to a Doctor of Ministry. This program is an applied research program designed to lead professionals to a deeper understanding of the plurality of forms of ministry. The Doctor of Ministry is intended for mid-career professionals desiring to reflect and build on their experience and likely to fill significant leadership roles within the context of their respective professional practices. Courses are delivered through the combined methods of web-based distance education and regular, intensive, 2 week on-campus sessions a year.
